Phoenix Suns rookie guard Davon Reed underwent meniscus surgery on his left knee Thursday and will won’t be able to resume full basketball activities for four to six months.

The Suns picked Reed with the second selection of the second round (32nd overall) out of the University of Miami in June’s draft.

He participated in the Las Vegas Summer League for the Suns and averaged 14.0 points per game in six contests.

Reed had the surgery performed by Suns head team physician Dr. Tom Carter in Phoenix.

In his four-year college career at Miami, Reed played in 131 games, helping the Hurricanes to a 90-49 record and two NCAA Tournament appearances. As a senior in 2016-17, Reed averaged 14.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game for head coach Jim Larranaga.
