Doug and Wolf’s 2017 NFL Power Poll rankings – Week 1

As the NFL season quickly approaches, Doug and Wolf made their picks of the five best teams in the NFL in their power poll.
Here is who they went with:
Doug
5. Pittsburgh Steelers
4. Oakland Raiders
3.Seattle Seahawks
2. Green Bay Packers
1. New England Patriots
Wolf
5. Green Bay Packers
4. Oakland Raiders
3. Pittsburgh Steelers
2. Dallas Cowboys
1. New England Patriots
While they didn’t 100 percent agree with where the other ranked certain teams, they did agree that the Raiders and the Patriots are the No. 4 and No. 1 teams in the league right now.
The Raiders were firing on all cylinders last season before a broken fibula sidelined starting quarterback Derek Carr and turned the Raiders from being one of the favorites to make the Super Bowl to a team that made an early exit in the playoffs. Now with a healthy Carr behind center and the addition of Marshawn Lynch to the backfield, the Raiders are back in Super Bowl contention talks.
“(Carr) is back, he’s healthy,” Doug said. “Do not forget this team was on a roll last year.”
The Patriots are coming off a historic Super Bowl win, coming back from 28-3 to defeat the Atlanta Falcons. And while the team did take a tough blow losing wide receiver Julian Edelman for the season with a torn ACL, they still bolster a dangerous receiving corps, trading for former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandin Cooks in the offseason and getting back a healthy Rob Gronkowski, who missed multiple games last season due to a back injury.
The two teams that both Doug and Wolf couldn’t agree on were the Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks.
While Wolf believes the Cowboys are going to be fine even with their running back situation, Doug thinks otherwise.
“They’re not even on the power poll because they have Elliot issues,” Doug said.
Doug believes the Seahawks are going to be the third-best team in the NFL, but Wolf thinks the team isn’t what it has been in previous years.
“The Seattle Seahawks are getting ready to take a step back,” Wolf said. “Heard it hear first.”
