LISTEN: Doug & Wolf NFL Power Poll - Week 2

Following a hectic Week 1 in the NFL, Doug and Wolf are back with their updated power poll picks ahead of Week 2.

Here they are:

Doug

5. Seattle Seahawks
4. New England Patriots
3. Kansas City Chiefs
2. Pittsburgh Steelers
1. Green Bay Packers

Wolf

5. Minnesota Vikings
4. New England Patriots
3. Green Bay Packers
2. Kansas City Chiefs
1. Carolina Panthers

New to the power poll are the Vikings, Chiefs and Panthers, while the Raiders and Cowboys fell off.

Although the Patriots had an abysmal Week 1 showing, they still remain on the lists, dropping from No. 1 to No. 4 on both Doug and Wolf’s power polls.

“(The Patriots are) hanging on for dear life because it was ugly, but you got to look at one game and say ‘hey it was one game,” Doug said.

The Patriots ran into a buzzsaw Thursday night when Alex Smith and the Chiefs manhandled the reigning Super Bowl Champions. Quarterback Tom Brady managed to throw for 267 yards, but the Chiefs defense stepped up, holding Brady scoreless. Smith looked like an MVP, throwing 28-35 for 368 yards and four touchdowns.

And while the Green Bay Packers were Doug’s top team, up one spot from last week, Wolf went outside the box, choosing the Panthers as the No. 1 team in the NFL.

“You watch what Carolina does this year,” Wolf said. “I am a big believer in the Carolina Panthers.

“That defense has only begun.”
