Seals-Jones played four seasons for Texas A&M before joining the Cardinals in 2017 as an undrafted free agent. The 22-year-old rookie played as a wide receiver in college, but converted to tight end after signing with Arizona.
Wheeler originally joined the Cardinals on July 27.
The nine-year NFL veteran has 513 tackles, 133 games and 66 starts for the Colts, Raiders, Dolphins and Falcons on his resume. Last season for Atlanta, he recorded 28 tackles in 16 appearances.
The move comes after tight end Jermaine Gresham was limited in practice all week and listed as questionable for Monday’s night game against the Dallas Cowboys.
