Week 5 of the Fantasy Football season for the 98.7 FM Arizona Sports Host League saw eight teams score in the double digits. Find out who won and more in this week’s recap.
Dan Bickley (Blinded by the TD’s): 114
Ron Wolfley (Team Wolfley): 103
It came down to Monday Night, but Bickley came away with the win this week. He started Deshaun Watson at quarterback which ultimately was the reason he won, as he accounted for 35 of Bickley’s 114 points. Wolf’s team was also led by his quarterback with Dak Prescott accounting for 29 of his 103 points.
Bertrand Berry (Daddy Phat $acks): 125
Mike Jurecki (Team Jurecki): 137
This was the highest scoring matchup the Host League saw in Week 5. B-Train’s team was very consistent with all but two players scoring above 11 points. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough as Mike Jurecki’s team was led by Carson Wentz with 27 points — his defense (Jaguars D/ST) closely followed with 26.
Doug Franz (I Hate Fantasy): 100
John Gambadoro (Sister Markus Golden Hair): 64
Gambo’s team didn’t have a great week as only four of his nine players scored in the double digits. His top scorer was Eli Manning with 13 points, and the Seahawks D/ST closely following with 12. On the other hand, Doug’s top scorer this week was Melvin Gordon, who racked up 33 points with his next leading scorer being Austin Seferian-Jenkins with 14.
Dave Burns (Bold Strategy Cotton): 111
Paul Calvisi (Paulie Pigskin): 86
Although only three of his nine starting players scored in double digits, Dave was still able to take home the win. Leonard Fournette led Dave’s team with 31 points, but DeAndre Hopkins also had quite the Week 5 with 27. On the other hand, Paul’s team had five players score in double digits as A.J. Green led the way with 29. Paul’s defense really struggled this week with -7 points.
Vince Marotta (That Booty!): 120
Listener Winner (Dancing with Stanton): 122
This was the closest matchup the host league saw in Week 5, but the Listener Winner remained dominate as he defeated Vince to advance to 5-0. The Listener Winner’s top scorer this week was Chris Hogan with 21 points, and Zach Ertz closely followed with 18. Vince’s team was led by Alex Smith and Antonio Brown, as both players had 25 points.
