Flat-earth truther Kyrie Irving is a court-age truther as well

Oct 26, 2017, 2:37 PM

Kyrie Irving doesn’t believe everything he hears.

To some degree, questioning things is good. At some point, though, isn’t it good to trust people when they tell you something?

For example: The Boston Celtics visit the Milwaukee Bucks preparing for a game at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena, the Bucks’ home from 1968-88 that’s better known as the MECCA (Milwaukee Exposition, Convention Center and Arena). To celebrate Milwaukee’s past, the Bucks even put together a new court and painted it like the retro MECCA court.

Read that again: It is a new court painted like the old one.

Well, Kyrie says it feels different. Maybe that’s true.

He’s worried about safety. Maybe that’s warranted.

“I’m all about safety so we’ll see how it is on my knees, see how it is on everyone’s bodies,” Irving told reporters. “I know this is a pretty older court –it looks like it’s fresh painted as well.”

But he also didn’t believe it when reporters told him it wasn’t an old rickety court from the late 1960s.

“It took me three steps to realize that this is not the same NBA court I’m used to playing on so we’ll see what’s up,” he said in response.

The Bucks took notice, sub-tweeting Irving’s comments with a video of how the court was made.

This does not help Irving’s reputation after it was revealed last year in a podcast by his teammates that he believes the earth is flat.

So the internet, as it does, did not show Irving any mercy.
