Arizona State beats Northern State in double-overtime exhibition game

Arizona State beat Northern State 98-90 in double overtime Thursday in the team’s first exhibition game of the season.
Sun Devils senior guard Shannon Evans had 24 points, senior guard Tra Holder had 20 and freshman forward Kimani Lawrence added 15.
Northern State is located in Aberdeen, S.D. It plays in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference at the NCAA Division II level, which has 16 universities consisting of schools from Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska.
ASU freshman forward Romello White did not play in the game due to violating team rules. He sat out all of last season after being ruled ineligible. He served as an academic redshirt to keep his four years of eligibility.
