Arizona Cardinals place Early Doucet on IR
The 2010 season was suppose to be a break out one for Arizona Cardinals’ wide receiver Early Doucet, instead it was one that ended prematurely.
The team announced Wednesday that they’ve placed Doucet on injured reserve due to a hip injury. The move officially ends what was an injury plagued season for the wideout.
With the departure of Anquan Boldin and his big performance in last season’s playoff game against the Green Bay Packers, Doucet was elevated to the team’s number three receiver and was expected to have a large impact. Instead he only appeared in ten games, missing five due to a sports hernia suffered in Week 1, catching 26-passes for 291 yards and a touchdown.
Doucet has had trouble staying on the field and off the injury report since entering the NFL. He’s missed 22 of a possible 52 games for various reasons.
