Suns assign Derrick Jones Jr. to G League affiliate

The Phoenix Suns sent forward Derrick Jones Jr. to the Northern Arizona Suns, the team announced Tuesday.
The 20-year-old Jones averaged 1.8 points, 1.0 blocks and 0.8 rebounds in four NBA games this season. Jones played in 32 games (eight starts) for Phoenix last season and averaged 5.3 points, 0.4 blocks and 2.5 rebounds per game.
The Suns have sent Jones to their development team six other times. He averaged 14.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 19 games (17 starts).
He has not found a spot in the rotation behind T.J. Warren, Josh Jackson, Troy Daniels and Devin Booker.
