LISTEN: Eric Bledsoe, Milwaukee Bucks' and Former Suns' Guard

Former Phoenix Suns point guard Eric Bledsoe was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks Tuesday and he joined 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s Burns & Gambo to discuss everything in the past and future.

The whole Bledsoe fracas began when he tweeted “I Dont wanna be here,” a tweet that created controversy within itself when general manager Ryan McDonough revealed Bledsoe said he tweeted that because he was at a hair salon.

Bledsoe is sticking to the story.

“I’ve never been a liar,” Bledsoe said Tuesday of the tweet. “I haven’t ever lied to anybody when it comes to serious things.”

When asked about the Suns being upset with his actions, Bledsoe was nonchalant.

“Who knows? Who knows? That’s something I couldn’t control,” Bledsoe said. “We (are) at this point now where all those things, they really don’t matter no more.”

Bledsoe said “it didn’t matter to me” whether or not the deal got done in a hurry.

“It was just something that had to [be] done,” he said. “[It didn’t] matter if it was going to be a quick or longer process, I was just prepared for whatever situation I [got] in.”

He said he spent time with his family, watched a lot of basketball and stayed in shape with his time off.

Bledsoe wouldn’t answer whether or not he thought the Suns wanted to keep him long-term, but he enjoyed his time in Phoenix and had no regrets.

According to McDonough, those around Bledsoe wanted a long-term contract extension and the Suns weren’t looking to give it to him at the time.

Bledsoe shook off notions of this, saying his “whole goal is to win the championship.”

He’s looking forward to a clean slate, being on a contender and progressing off his time developing as a leader in the Valley.

“It helped me grow as a person and a team player for the city and the fans,” Bledsoe said. “I would take none of that back. I wouldn’t take none of that back. It got me to this point where I’m a good professional and always will be and always have and I’m looking forward.”
