The Arizona State Sun Devils began their season Friday night with a win over Idaho State, but news broke on the same day that ASU will lose one of its players.

Ramon Vila, a sophomore forward from Barcelona, has left the Sun Devils after one season, according to Sun Devil Source.

Head coach Bobby Hurley said Vila’s departure was about “having a role that he’s looking for.”

The 6-foot-8 Vila averaged 2.6 points and 2.0 rebounds in 12.3 minutes in the 2016-17 season.
