Josh Barnett vs. Travis Browne Added to UFC 168
A pair of top heavyweight contenders have officially been added to the UFC’s annual end of the year pay-per-view, with Josh Barnett squaring off against Travis Browne at UFC 168 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal first reported it before the UFC made it official.
Barnett, currently ranked No. 6 in UFC official heavyweight rankings, is a former UFC heavyweight champion and is coming off an impressive first round TKO victory over Frank Mir at UFC 164 that pushed his record to 10-1 in his last 11 bouts and 33-6 overall.
Browne, ranked just above Barnett at No. 5, is coming off the biggest win in is career with a first round knockout over former Strikeforce, Dream and K-1 heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem at UFC Fight Night 26 pushing his career record to 15-1.
UFC 168 already has two heavily anticipated title fights with Chris Weidman vs. Anderson Silva II for Weidman’s UFC middleweight championship and Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate II for Rousey’s UFC women’s bantamweight title.
