Rattlers’ Davila, Gray earn weekly AFL honors

Arizona Rattlers quarterback Nick Davila and defensive back Virgil Gray have both earned Arena Football League honors for Week 16.

Davila threw for 411 yards and a season-high nine touchdowns in the Rattlers’ 84-56 win over the Orlando Predators last Saturday and was named the Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week.

Gray registered five tackles and three interceptions while returning six kicks for 117 yards in the victory to earn the J. Lewis Small Playmaker of the Week award. Gray now has nine interceptions on the season, which is tied for the second-most in the Arena Football League.

The Rattlers (13-2) return home to Ak-Chin Field at US Airways Center to host the New Orleans VooDoo (5-10) Saturday, July 13 at 6:00 p.m.
