Arizona Rattlers quarterback Nick Davila and defensive end Cliff Dukes both took home AFL awards for their performances in the team’s Week 12 51-42 win over the San Jose SaberCats.

Davila, who is affectionately referred to as the, “Latin Laser,” won the Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week playing just one day after his father died. The 6-foot-3 Davila came off the bench to complete 15-of-19 passes for 136 yards with four touchdowns to help the Rattlers clinch their fourth straight West Division title. He is no stranger to awards after being named second-team All-Arena in the past three seasons and the National Guard MVP of the year in 2011. Davila has completed 213 of 308 passes so far this season for 2,834 yards and 81 touchdowns.

Dukes, a 6-foot-4 lineman out of Michigan State, had 4.5 tackles, two sacks and two pass breakups in the win over the SaberCats and was given the AFL J. Lewis Small Playmaker of the Week award for his efforts. Dukes, who spent three seasons with the Tampa Bay Storm before being traded to the Rattlers in 2012, has recorded 19 tackles and six sacks so far this season.

The Rattlers (11-0) travel to Portland (3-8) this week to take on the Thunder on Jun. 6
