When Pittsburgh Penguins right wing Phil Kessel saw a young fan holding a sign to the glass before Monday’s game against Colorado, he knew what to do.
“All I want for Christmas is a signed stick and a picture,” the young girl’s sign said along with Kessel’s No. 81.
The self-proclaimed No. 1 fan of 30-year-old Kessel had her Christmas wish granted when he skated over during warm-ups.
Kessel proceeded to sign his stick, asking a member of the Penguins staff to then hand it to the young fan.
Making Christmas wishes come true one signed stick at a time. What a guy @PKessel81 is. 🎅🎄

The gift brought tears to the fan’s eyes, whose Christmas list became shorter thanks to the gesture from the NHL star.
The video of Kessel’s generosity went viral on Twitter, with users praising him for his willingness to go out of his way to please the young fan.

I’ve said it once and i’ll say it again. People really don’t understand how good of a guy Phil is. Does ALOT behind the scenes and asks not to be recognized publicly. https://t.co/dmnx9NJesI
