Bruce Arians heard the rumors early Tuesday morning. A story citing multiple sources said the Arizona Cardinals and their head coach “will agree to part ways” next week.

Speaking on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s Bickley & Marotta, Arians refuted that report — and that he’d met with team management about his future at all.

“The whole thing was like as good of fake news as I’ve read in awhile,” he said Tuesday. “Somebody trying to make money. That’s what it feels like.”

Health-wise, Arians said he hasn’t “felt this good in about two or three years” but has yet to discuss his future with his family.

After the Cardinals finish 2017 with a visit to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, he plans on wrapping up the end-of-season evaluations before making a decision on whether he will return next year. Arians added that he’s not even spoken with team president Michael Bidwill about how soon the Cardinals would like him to make a decision about his future

“Like I said every week, it’ll be next week or maybe two weeks after the season,” Arians said of when he believes he’ll make a final decision. “It shouldn’t take long. I mean, I couldn’t wait to get here at 5 o’clock this morning. It’ll be an easy decision one way or the other.”
