SEC MEDIA DAYS
There’s just nothing like it. Over 1,000 members of the media. Thousands of fans in the hotel area because the hotel is attached to a mall. We get Bret Bielema versus Gus Malzahn, A.J. McCarron and Johnny Manziel, Jadeveon Clowney versus quarterbacks and Steve Spurrier versus the NCAA.
GRAND CANYON VS. ARIZONA STATE
The last time Dr. Michael Crow was involved in sports he declared ASU football was playing at Chase Field without talking to Arizona Diamondbacks president Derrick Hall. Now, he is leading a boycott against Jerry Colangelo’s Antelopes.
Two of the more respected people in Phoenix sports are Colangelo and Hall. It’s a twosome that makes no sense to alienate.
THE OPEN
I love those bunkers.
MLBPA
After all these years, the players get it. The head of the MLBPA, Michael Weiner, said they won’t fight suspensions for those where it is clear the evidence is overwhelmingly against them. This is the players drawing a line in the sand demanding PEDs be removed from their game. The union they pay dues to will not be used to protect cheaters.
This is a great day to be a baseball fan.
