Back-to-back games in two different cities are no fun for NBA teams.
The challenge becomes even greater when a team has to travel on the same day as a game.
That rarely happens these days, but it’s the Phoenix Suns’ reality heading into their Wednesday night contest against the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.
Just hours after a rousing 104-103 comeback win over the Atlanta Hawks in Phoenix, the Suns were sent home from Sky Harbor International Airport at 2 a.m. after waiting several hours. Mechanical problems delayed the flight until noon Wednesday, according to Jon Bloom of 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
That’s just seven hours before tip-off against the Nuggets.
Phoenix is 3-5 on the second night of back-to-back games in different cities this season.
