Tennis player Grigor Dimitrov helps injured opponent to sideline

Jan 5, 2018, 11:05 AM

Tennis player Grigor Dimitrov took home the win in the quarterfinal match of the Brisbane International against Kyle Edmund Friday, but it’s what he did during the match that will have people talking about the moment for sometime.

After Dimitrov got the best of Edmund during a rally, Edmund went down, holding his ankle in agony.

That’s where Dimitrov steps in.

Instead of going around the court to check on Edmund, the tennis pro went up and over the net before helping the British No. 2 tennis player to the sideline.

Luckily for Edmund, the injury didn’t appear to be too serious as he got his ankle wrapped and returned to action.

“At the end of the day, it’s health above all,” Dimitrov said. “It’s very unfortunate what happened. I’ve seen this too many times, I know the feeling and I really hope he gets better.”
