Burns: Not enough demand for the supply

Did you ever watch the show “Arrested Development?”

No?

Funny, but nobody else did either.

Oh it was a good show, funny, clever. But it was a ratings disaster and after a while all the write-and-email-the-network efforts didn’t save a thing. The show got cancelled.

That’s the Phoenix Coyotes. In a supply-and-demand world, there just wasn’t enough of the latter to justify the former. And this may sound cruel, but if they indeed do leave, I won’t miss them. Not a bit.

There was once a time I took pride in living in a city that sported all four major pro sports franchises. It was cool. And the glory days of Tkachuck, Roenick and the white out truly made the Coyotes relevant.

But I was young. I was oozing spare time. Not anymore.

I could sit here and talk about what a shame it is. Make it sound like a part of my life – even a small part – might be packing up and moving to southern Ontario.

But it would be a lie.

A Corolla at running back might work for the Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals might be better off looking for a running back in the draft than to land the big name.
