Tiger kept us engaged Sunday in Augusta

Apr 11, 2011, 2:50 AM | Updated: 5:37 pm

I found that the only time I was entertained by the HBO show “Entourage” was when the Jeremy Piven character, Ari, was on screen. When he’s in front of me, I’m engaged. When he’s not, I’m not.

I feel exactly the same way about Tiger Woods and golf, and I hardly think I’m alone.

So when Tiger made his push on Sunday at Augusta I was all in. Engaged. Might even use the word riveted. Between the Woods revival and the McIlroy meltdown, I was hanging on every syrupy word dripping from Jim Nantz’ mouth.

I am the face of the casual golf fan and I don’t apologize for it.

Let’s be honest about this. There is a 36.3% chance that you’ve already forgotten the name of the guy who won…..it was, uh….umm….right there on the tip of my tongue…..Charl Schwartzel.

Admit it. It was exponentially more interesting when Tiger was in the hunt. You kept waiting, wishing, wanting for him to have that Tiger moment that announced with authority….I’M BACK. You could tell the crowd felt the same way; the energy that translated through the TV was palpable. Tiger’s grip on his golf game might not be as strong as it once was but make no mistake. His death grip on America has never been stronger.

We’re literally begging for him to be great again.

A Corolla at running back might work for the Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals might be better off looking for a running back in the draft than to land the big name.
