I’m reading in national articles that the Suns turned down the trade for James Harden. It says they wanted a “substantial player” and two future first round picks. Is this true? And, if so why? You have a franchise superstar who wants to play here, who can be your championship cornerstone. It doesn’t make sense.

Thanks,
Mike

Sorry, Mike. I don’t understand your question.

The Suns couldn’t compete with the package Houston offered. It wasn’t until recently that the Suns started stockpiling draft picks. Houston traded away other teams’ draft picks. They were ready.

I’m glad the Suns have changed philosophies and focused their efforts on the draft. Hopefully they can stockpile picks and be more prepared the next time there’s an opportunity.

Why is it on pass protection the linemen stand up and retreat, as opposed to run plays where they attack the defensive line?

Might be good question for Wolf.

Kris

I’d be glad to answer that for you if you’d like.

Deuce Lutui is doing a great job for 49ers. Where was the poor coaching???

Bert

Using the word “great” means you’re misguided on football knowledge or bitter towards the Cardinals. He’s doing OK.

Bert, if I’m your boss and I give you two years to do what I tell you to do and you don’t do it, why shouldn’t I fire you?

If you take that lesson and realize your career is on the fritz then re-focus your life, why should I get blamed for your productivity with my competitor? You weren’t getting the job done so I let you go.

Doug,

Please take the team and coaches Russ Grimm and Ken Whisenhunt to task for that awful offensive line. I know that you will be honest in your views of the game and Cardinals as a whole.

Andrew

As I’ve learned in this business, people love to scream they want the truth, but that’s a lie (kind of a funny irony).

What people really want is for someone in the media to vehemently agree with them. I’m sure you’re not this big of an idiot and anti-American but this is what you’re saying: “AGREE WITH ME OR YOU’RE A LIAR.”

I will not take Whiz to task for the awful offensive line. I will not take Grimm to task for the offensive line. I’ll leave that for the people that have no idea what they’re talking about.

If someone ever asks my opinion of what’s wrong with the offensive line, I’ll be glad to tell them.

Enjoy Corvallis this weekend. If you like pizza go to Woods Stock on Circle Drive. If you want some good Micro Brews, and I know you do, go to McMenamins on Monroe and Third Street. We have some great beers in the Pacific Northwest.

Oh! Be safe and Go Beavs

Rob

Thanks, but I didn’t have the time to really enjoy it.

I don’t want to miss Friday’s show, so I rarely fly with the team since they leave Friday at lunch time. I landed, drove to Corvallis, broadcasted, spent four hours in a hotel and I’m answering your e-mail while on the commercial flight to Phoenix.

I will tell you something you’ll love. Every time we play Oregon, I’m amazed by the ignorance, drunkenness, arrogance and rudeness of their fans and the people around Eugene. Every time we play Oregon State, I wonder when we get to go back. Very good people in Corvallis. Good luck in the Civil War. I’m rooting for you.

When do we start questioning Grimm’s coaching and leadership abilities? Before I go off on him I will at least try to be fair and say I know our o-line talent is obviously below average. That said, I would think that Russ Grimm after being with the team for as long as he has now […]

“Luck favors the prepared mind.”- Chip Kelly Christopher Sounds awfully close to John Wooden to me. — Doug – your show used to have a podcast. Did you get rid of it? Thanks, Scott don’t think so…I still get e-mails about it. — Those that want Coach Grimm fired just don’t want to accept logical […]

Jim Leavitt’s 94-57 record at S. Florida is deceiving. I only count what he did once S. Florida got to the Big East. 40-24 and 25-26 in conference. Not to mention how his time at S. Florida ended. With him hitting a player and THEN attempting to cover it up. He didn’t get fired for […]

Good morning fellas, My opinion, LSU should go to the BCS Championship even if they had lost a game. Has any team in history ever had to play 7 ranked teams in their season? Has any team ever had to play a #2 and TWO # 3’s in one season? That is just sick. LSU […]

Dear Doug: When I heard you say that you’re willing to give the 5-year vet, Kevin Kolb, until the middle of next season to turn things around I immediately had one thought: How I wish you were my boss! What a luxury it would be to know that I could underperform for a year and […]
