Kansas athletic director Lew Perkins has launched an investigation into allegations football coach Mark Mangino has been treating his players inappropriately.
When reached for comment, Mangino said he was sorry for mistreating his players, and was only being hard on them because he was so angry at not being chosen as People’s Sexiest Man of the Year again

Kansas City’s third-year wide receiver Dwayne Bowe was suspended without pay for four games Tuesday for violating the NFL’s policy against performance-enhancing substances.
Also, the Chiefs will fine Bowe several thousand dollars for obviously not sharing the performance enhancers with the rest of the team

NASCAR driver Mark Martin won’t judge this season on whether or not he can catch teammate Jimmie Johnson for the Sprint Cup title. No matter where Martin finishes in the final standings, the 50-year-old veteran says 2009 has been the best year of his life.
Mostly because the Denny’s near his house added a new early bird menu

Bobby Frankel, who rose from the streets of Brooklyn to become one of the most successful and respected trainers in the history of thoroughbred horse racing, died early Monday from complications due to lymphoma. He was 68.
A life long horse racing fan, Frankel has requested that in lieu of a funeral, his body instead be ground up and made into dog food
