Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress says he’s confident in the team’s plan to manage rookie Percy Harvin’s migraine headaches. The problem kept Harvin out of one game and limited him to one practice last week.
Of much more concern to Childress is the problem that’s giving him a headache – Brett Favre

Brad Childress said he had a “good talk” with his quarterback on both Monday and Wednesday about their disagreement during Sunday’s loss to Carolina. Childress has said he suggested to Favre that he come out of the game with the Vikings clinging to a one-point lead. Minnesota eventually lost 26-7.
While Childress did not prevent Favre from re-entering the game, he gained a minor victory by successfully squashing Favre’s plan to play the entire second half in Wrangler jeans

The Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather welterweight title megafight, tentatively scheduled for March 13 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, is in jeopardy because of the camps’ failure to agree on the manner of drug testing for the fight.
Mayweather wants rigorous Olympic-style blood testing, while Pacquiao feels that he should be allowed to fight by simply using the “honor system”

Seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher is coming out of retirement to drive for Mercedes in 2010, saying he expects to contend for the title again
And in more exciting news for people in America: someone in the NFL did anything

A former UPS driver has sued Joe Namath, alleging he was attacked by the Hall of Fame quarterback’s dogs while making a delivery at his Florida home.
Namath claims the dogs meant no harm. He says the dogs were simply drunk and only really wanted to kiss the UPS driver

Philadelphia quarterback Michael Vick, who joined the Eagles this season after serving 18 months in federal prison for his role in a dogfighting ring, has been named recipient of the team’s Ed Block Courage Award.
Because when you think of Michael Vick, a man who was convicted for brutally murdering dogs and then became a millionaire again anyway while contributing virtually nothing to his new team, the word you most certainly think of is “COURAGEOUS”

Jimmy Johnson, the first driver in NASCAR history to win four consecutive titles, earned mainstream recognition Monday when he was honored as the Male Athlete of the Year by members of The Associated Press.
And since sitting and driving is now apparently athletic, finalists for Athlete of the Century include Frank the UPS man, Larry the fat trucker and Smelly Joe the city bus driver

Bobby Bowden said Tuesday that while he wanted to coach another year at Florida State, “that was out” as an option.
Also out as an option for Bowden? Sleeping through the night without waking up 4 times to use the bathroom

Danica Patrick made five turns around Daytona International Speedway in the JR Motorsports ARCA car with only four at full speed before rain that delayed the start of the three-day test for almost five hours canceled it altogether.
However, it should be noted that Patrick’s five consecutive turns without crashing did set the record for greatest driving performance by a woman

Martin Brodeur broke Terry Sawchuk’s 40-year-old record with his 104th career shutout, further strengthening his case to be considered the best goaltender to play the game
And because of his ability to prevent scoring and protect the crease, Brodeur also earned an endorsement from Planned Parenthood
