Ladies and gentlemen (and especially ladies), welcome to the Sports Kabob, a skewered look at the world of sports and pop culture.

Here are the top stories:

After the game Hall celebrated with his wife and child, and his other wife and child

Allen Iverson is close to agreeing to a contract with a basketball team in Turkey.
While Iverson moving to Turkey to play basketball may not sound like a great career move it does sound like a hilarious sitcom plot

After re-injuring his elbow on Monday, Brett Favre says he may not play this week if his elbow is stiff.
And if his elbow isn’t stiff, he will send a picture of it to a Jets sideline reporter.

Ben Roethlisberger says he is anxious and nervous about returning, and that he “has no fingernails left.”
And if you think that’s something, you should see the girl.

Tommie Smith is selling the gold medal he won at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, where his Black Power salute on the podium shocked the sports world.
To stay true to his beliefs, however, Smith will only be selling the medals on the black market

Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas’ latest escapade took place Tuesday, when coach Flip Saunders announced before a preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks that Arenas would miss the contest with a sore left knee. But Arenas revealed after the Wizards’ 107-92 victory that he pretended to have a bum knee to give teammate Nick Young a chance to start.
Arenas also announced that he will be changing his nickname from “Agent Zero” to “Agent Zero Chance in Hell of Finishing the Season With the Wizards”

David Pearson finally received his spot in the NASCAR Hall of Fame on Wednesday, earning the most votes a year after the 105-race winner was surprisingly excluded from the inaugural class
The NASCAR Hall of Fame is unique, in that it is the only HOF with a Wal-Mart attached

A.J. Burnett hit two batters and threw a wild pitch in a practice game, his first outing against live hitters since an Oct. 2 start against the Boston Red Sox.
In other words, he’s in midseason form

Georgia will introduce their new mascot Uga VIII before Saturday’s homecoming game against Vanderbilt.
Meanwhile, Uga VII is now the featured menu item at University of Georgia’s best Vietnamese restaurant

Kentucky John Calipari is telling fans that he expects his team to start slow this year.
Mostly because it takes a while for all the players’ checks to clear
