Going on the road and scoring 86 points on your opponent
will apparently open the eyes of Arena Football League
coaches.
That’s exactly what the Arizona Rattlers did last
Saturday, heading north to blow out the Utah Blaze 86-70
to improve their record to 7-3 on the season.
And for that reason, the Rattlers have moved up from third
to first in the Week 12 AFL Power Rankings, leapfrogging
the San Jose Sabercats and the Philadelphia Soul in the
process.
The Rattlers were led by the devastating passing combo of
Nick Davila and Maurice Purify, who hooked up for 7
touchdowns in Arizona’s record-setting win. Davila threw
11 touchdown passes in the contest, bringing his season
total to 68, which ranks 2nd in the league behind Utah’s
Tommy Grady (80).
The Rattlers take on the New Orleans VooDoo (4-5) in the
Crescent City Saturday night.
