Rattlers scrape past Pittsburgh

Jun 4, 2012, 5:35 PM | Updated: 6:37 pm

It wasn’t pretty, but the Arizona Rattlers continued their
victorious ways, notching a 55-45 win over the Pittsburgh
Power at US Airways
Center Saturday night. The win was Arizona’s fourth
straight and sixth in their last seven contests.

Nick Davila threw for 282 yards and five touchdowns, and
Trandon Harvey scored three times, including a 57-yard
kickoff return that stretched the Arizona lead to 21
points late in the 3rd quarter.

While the win pushed the Rattlers’ record to a league-best
9-3, head coach Kevin Guy wasn’t exactly happy about the
way his team finished, allowing Pittsburgh to creep to
within seven points with under three minutes to play.

“We won’t play like that again, I can promise you,” Guy
told me on the field after the game.

Coupled with San Jose’s loss at Milwaukee, the Rattlers
took over sole possession of first place in the Pacific
Division with six games remaining.

The game was marred by a total of 27 penalties between the
two teams. Pittsburgh fell to 2-9 and lost their sixth
