For the third straight year of his career, Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker is participating in an event on the NBA’s All-Star Saturday Night.

After placing third in the 3-point contest in his rookie year and being eliminated by Isaiah Thomas in the skills challenge last year, Booker will be in the 3-point contest this year, the team confirmed Thursday.

Booker will face Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal, Miami Heat guard Wayne Ellington, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George, Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon, Los Angeles Clippers forward Tobias Harris, Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry and Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson. Gordon won last year’s contest, while Thompson won the event in 2016.

The 21-year-old Booker is shooting 38.3 percent from deep on nearly seven attempts a game.

Despite boasting a resume worthy of an All-Star nod, Booker did not make the team this season.

He is the eighth Suns player to be in the contest.

The others were Jeff Hornacek (1992), Dan Majerle (1993, 1995), Joe Johnson (2005), Quentin Richardson (2005), Steve Nash (2008) and Channing Frye (2010). Richardson is the only Suns player to ever win the contest.
