2014 Futures Game program forgets where Arizona is located

Jul 14, 2014, 2:04 AM | Updated: 2:04 am

Arizona is the third-youngest state in the country, however it has been in the Union for over a century at this point.

Yet, there are some who still can’t locate the Grand Canyon State on a map of the United States.

How do we know this?

Well, the situation occurred once again Sunday — in rather embarrassing fashion.

Sunday, Target Field in Minneapolis played host to its first event of All-Star weekend, the Futures Game.

In an attempt to inform the casual fan of each US participants’ playing background, the game’s program had a map wherein each prospect was listed inside his home state.

Except, of course, for Gilbert High product D.J. Peterson, who was taken with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2013 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners.

Peterson’s name was listed inside of ‘Arizona.’ Only one problem, the program’s geography was a little off.

The state labeled ‘Arizona’ was in fact New Mexico.

Oops!!!
