Eagles linebacker Emmanuel Acho agrees to take fan to prom, surprises her at school

Credit Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Emmanuel Acho for staying true to his word in an era in which athletes aren’t always known for doing so.

In January, Hannah Delmonte used Acho’s Instagram page to ask him if he would be willing to accompany her to her prom at Woodgrove High School in Purcellville, Virginia.

Acho said he would be glad to, under one condition: Delmonte needed to obtain 10,000 retweets of their Instagram conversation.

As it turns out, Acho should have given Delmonte a real challenge, as she earned those 10,000 retweets in a matter of hours.

Acho surprised Delmonte at her school on Friday with a personalized, autographed Eagles jersey.

Delmonte had a sense of humor about her emotional reaction to Acho’s visit.

In a statement, Acho said Delmonte is “a very determined young lady and I give her all the credit in the world for such an amazing accomplishment.”

This will be the first-ever prom for Acho, who said he plans to play the piano and sing to Delmonte, as well.
