The Arizona Cardinals have named Red Mountain High School football coach Ron Wisniewski as the coach of the week.

Wisniewski’s Mountain Lion team upset top-ranked Brophy 33-31 in a game that saw Red Mountain quarterback Mason Thorman throw a game-winning touchdown pass with just 21 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

The award, which is voted on by a panel consisting of Cardinals employees as well as local media personalities, will be presented to Wisniewski and his team on September 13 at the school’s football field prior to practice.

Previous winners of the award are Mountain Pointe coach Norris Vaughn and Marcos de Niza coach Roy Lopez.
