Will Barton says Troy Daniels scuffle was over podcast comments

In the opening minutes of the Phoenix Suns game Saturday, Troy Daniels and Denver Nuggets guard Will Barton exchanged words and some shoves. Barton had no idea at the time what sparked this feud.
Barton must have forgot what he said on his teammate’s Richard Jefferson’s podcast about the Suns only one day before the Nuggets matchup in Phoenix.
“They got to send the whole Phoenix team to the G League,” Barton said when talking about the Suns 48-point loss to the San Antonio Spurs on the Road Trippin’ podcast that was released the day prior to the game. “Except for Devin Booker and T.J. Warren, the rest of that got to go to the G League.”
Barton went on to include Tyson Chandler in the group of Phoenix players who didn’t need to be sent down the Northern Arizona Suns.
“I mean (Tyson Chandler) is a veteran and a champion,” Barton said. “He doesn’t even count on that team. What he did is certified.”
After finding out the reason for the scuffle, Barton told The Denver Post that he has a high opinion for the competitiveness of the Suns guard.
So when we came back in (the locker room), they told me that’s what it’s about, and then it’s like, ‘It all makes sense.’ It’s like, ‘Oh, that’s why he came out like that,’ which I respect. You’re supposed to take that personal and I respect that. I would have took it personal, too.”
Not only does Barton respect Daniels for that, but Jefferson also respects his choice of podcasts.
Good to know Troy is a avid listener! https://t.co/Zt7iu5cvI6
