If Larry Fitzgerald’s outing at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am was any indication of his NFL future, things didn’t look good for the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
But on Wednesday, Fitzgerald decided it wasn’t time to make golf a full-time hobby. Instead, he announced his decision to return for a 15th season with the Cardinals.
Following the retirements of former head coach Bruce Arians and quarterback Carson Palmer after the 2017 campaign, the 34-year-old wideout had a lot of attention directed his way in the offseason leading up to the decision.
In 14 seasons, Fitzgerald has become the face of the franchise. His 15,545 yards and 1,234 receptions both rank third all-time in league history and he helped guide the Cardinals to their only Super Bowl appearance in 2008.
The announcement was met with positive social media reactions.
