If the battle between the Arizona State Sun Devils and Arizona Wildcats didn’t already have a title-fight aura around it, it does now.

Before tip, notable boxing announcer Michael Buffer graced the hardwood of Wells Fargo Arena Thursday night.

Using the iconic phrase “let’s get ready to rumble!” Buffer got the sold-out crowd on its feet and ready to go for the Pac-12 showdown.

Buffer has been a ring/boxing announcer since 1982. He currently announces for Top Rank Boxing on ESPN. His half-brother, Bruce Buffer, is also in the announcing business as UFC’s octagon announcer.

Along with boxing, he has also announced the World Series, NBA Finals and now, a territorial cup matchup.
