PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns’ front-line took another hit Thursday as it was discovered that rookie Gani Lawal tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee during the team’s morning practice.
Lawal will have surgery on the knee once the swelling goes down, likely over the next two weeks.
The Suns selected Lawal with the 46th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft out of Georgia Tech. He appeared in 10 games for the Iowa Energy of the NBA Developmental League, averaging 11.2 points and six rebounds per game.
