Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson may have the information all fans are looking for regarding free agent quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Johnson’s bold prediction is the latest attempt by current Cardinals’ players to sway the quarterback to settle in the desert for the 2018 season.

In early February while making media rounds ahead of Super Bowl LII, Johnson told NFL Network that he “wouldn’t mind” having Cousins or Eagles quarterback Nick Foles as the team’s new signal caller.

Similarly, cornerback Patrick Peterson gave his pitch for Cousins on ESPN’s First Take.

“Why not? I believe Kirk can definitely, can get us over the top,” Peterson said. “He’ll be in warm weather, he’ll be playing on one of the best turfs in the NFL. We have some great talent around him, running game, receivers, tight end — you name it, we have everything he needs to be successful.”

Die-hard Arizona Cardinals fan and country music star Blake Shelton used his platform on NBC’s “The Voice” to lure Cousins.

“I want to say to Kirk Cousins, if he’s watching out there, we want you in Arizona,” Shelton said. “We want you to be the quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals.”

The most recent came from star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who ran into Cousins on March 2 in Atlanta. Cousins captured the meeting on camera, posting the photo to his Instagram with a caption calling Fitzgerald a “GREAT recruiter.”

Poised to sign perhaps the biggest contract in NFL history, the landing spot for Cousins has been the talk of free agency.

The Cardinals were named as one of four finalists to sign him despite their lack of financial flexibility.

Regardless, the Cardinals have remained in the mix along with the New York Jets, Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings.

Where Cousins decides to sign is still unknown, but that may not be the case for long. He and other free agents are allowed to sign with teams when the NFL enters its new year on March 14.
