ASU football coach Herm Edwards is a man of many words.
But as he took off in a Blue Angels jet, all he could muster was a “Wow!”
The Blue Angels is a flight demonstration team formed in the 1940s to boost awareness and excitement toward the U.S. Navy. It continues to perform around the country for large audiences.
Edwards couldn’t turn down the chance to test it out.
“I like anxiety and this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” he said in a video on Sun Devil Football’s Twitter page. “I couldn’t pass up this offer.”
The plane accelerated to 400 mph before flipping him upside down, shown around the 2:11 mark in the video. The pilot also rolled him at the 1:35 mark.
Take a look at the far-away angle in this video provided by ASU:
If this is any indication of Edwards’ coaching style, the Sun Devils football season could be a wild ride.
