Gentry wants to keep Nash and Hill

This time last year Phoenix Suns head coach Alvin Gentry was answering questions about if he’d rest his starters to get ready for the playoffs. Now he’s spending his time talking about whether he’ll sit a starter until next season.

Gentry, as a guest on with Sports 620 KTAR’s Gambo and Ash Thursday, made it very clear that point guard Steve Nash is hurting but whether he plays or not is the point guards call.

“It’s kind of his decision. I talked to him about that,” he said. “I know one thing, I get everything I can out of him every night that he’s out there. When he’s not healthy obviously he can’t play at the same level. I talked to him the other night about that and he said he’s not a quitter. He’s going to play out the season and see what happens.”
