Suns’ Dudley says he has had ‘a successful’ season

Apr 5, 2011, 5:27 PM | Updated: 5:45 pm

Jared Dudley started his season on a high note.

The Phoenix Suns forward signed a five-year, $21.5 million contract with the Suns during the opening week of the season.

Five months later, with less than 10 games to go in the season, Sports 620 KTAR’s Doug & Wolf asked Dudley to give an evaluation of himself for the 2010-11 season.

“A successful one,” Dudley told Doug & Wolf. “I thought my best season of my career so far. Someone who first came into the league who was just a role player who just brought energy.”

The statistics would back Dudley up on the assessment of himself. He is averaging more than 10 points a game for the first time in his four-year career.

Dudley has started nine of the 76 games he has played so far and is playing more than 25 minutes a game, also a career first.
