Grant Hill doesn’t make the all-defensive team cut

Grant Hill’s teammates and coaches view him as one of the elite defenders in the league. Apparently few others around the NBA share that opinion.
On Monday the NBA announced it’s all-defensive first and second teams. Hill’s name was nowhere to be found.
The honor, which is voted on by the coaches, was one many thought Hill would receiver after spending most of the season admirably defending some of the leagues best players. Instead he only got four first team votes and eleven total points.
The Philadelphia 76ers’ Andre Iguodala had the lowest point total among forwards making the all-defensive teams with 15.
Along with Iguodala, Memphis’ Tony Allen, New Orleans’ Chris Paul, Dallas’ Tyson Chandler and Chicago’s Joakim Noah all made the all-defensive second team. The first team consisted of Orlando’s Dwight Howard, Boston’s Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett, Miami’s LeBron James, and Los Angeles’ Kobe Bryant.
The fact that Hill was left off both teams may be more a byproduct of playing for a team that finished the season giving up the second most points per game (105.9) than an indication of his actual defensive performance this year.
Then again you know what they say, perception is reality and the Suns are still not perceived as a good defensive basketball team. Sorry Grant.
