It’s currently an adventure for the Golden State Warriors.
They were without their four best players Sunday against the Utah Jazz: Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are all injured.
Making this adventure even more wild was center JaVale McGee, he who dominates the Shaqtin’ a Fool feature on TNT.
Take this 22-second clip as an example. In it, McGee takes the viewer through an array of emotions. In it, he does many things.
Here are those things and whether they were good or bad.
1. Defensive read: Off the bat, McGee does a good thing! He disrupts a pick-and-roll pocket pass because he knows it’s coming.
2. Steal: A good thing that comes from a sound read is a steal. He steals the ball and heads the other way.
3. Dribble: McGee is a center but successfully dribbles 3/4 of the court to the other rim. He’s going the right direction, toward his own hoop. We’re 3-for-3 of these things being good.
4. Scooping layup: Putting up a shot with a little flair, McGee misses a layup. Oh, no!
5. Offensive rebound: JaVale got the ball back. That’s good.
6. Another missed layup: Another missed layup is not good.
7. Catching the ball: McGee does not do this when teammate Patrick McCaw finds him in the paint. So that’s bad.
8. Effort: A thing McGee does despite the rough patch is he chases the loose ball after failing to catch it.
9. Drawn foul: Ha! McGee draws a foul because of his effort. Super good.
10. High five: Good things happen to good people.
Unfortunately, the possession ended for the Warriors when McGee missed a 12-foot bank shot.
Sometimes, life just isn’t fair.
