PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns ended up exactly where it was expected when they were awarded the 13th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft during the draft lottery that took place on Tuesday.
The Cleveland Cavaliers were the big winners moving up and getting the 1st and 4th picks.
The Suns will have to rely on their scouting and find a solid player at their spot in what is being considered a weak draft class by most experts.
The last time the Suns were in the lottery they selected Earl Clark with 14th pick back in 2009.
Some mock drafts have predicted the Suns might take BYU shooting guard Jimmer Fredette in that spot.
Many argue that if you’re not in the top ten, it’s difficult to find a great player, but keep in mind the Suns took Steve Nash with the 15th pick in the 1996 draft.
