Is Jimmer Fredette worth the trouble?

The Jimmer Fredette tour has begun rolling into NBA cities around the country this week for pre-draft workouts and with it comes all the hype and excitement of a three ring circus or better yet, a reality television show.
Jimmer may have the most pizazz and press clippings of any NBA draft prospect but is the distraction that comes along with it going to scare off certain NBA teams including the Phoenix Suns?
Sports 620 KTAR’s Paul Calvisi certainly thinks it could.
“The Jimmer comes with his own system and his own fan base,” he said on Friday’s Sports Interactive. “OK? If you’re an NBA GM or head coach you’re already running a system. Are you going to all of a sudden, if you’re Alvin Gentry, reconfigure your offense and run the Jimmer system?”
That’s not the only question facing the one named BYU star.
“Forget the teams, the focus is on Jimmer,” Calvisi said. “Can he play in the NBA?”
That’s the most important question the Suns and general managers around the league are asking themselves as the draft approaches. If the answer is yes, then they’ll have to decide if the he’s worth a high to mid round pick.
That, and if ‘Jimmer Mania’ is worth the attention and headache.
