Mickael Pietrus returning to Suns

Mickael Pietrus decided to stick around.
Acquired in a mid-season trade with Orlando, the 29-year-old elected to pick up his player option for a fourth year on his contract, which will pay him 5.3 million in 2011-12.
Pietrus’ agent Bill McCandless explained the move to HoopsHype.com
“It wasn’t an easy decision, but given the expiration of the CBA we decided that the decision made the most sense,” McCandless said.
The move, which really comes as no surprise, makes the most sense for Pietrus’ wallet. Odds are he wouldn’t have made as much on the open market. Still, what Pietrus gains in money he may lose in playing time, as the Suns still have an overabundance of wings with whom Pietrus will compete for playing time.
Known for his defense and three-point shooting, Pietrus averaged 7.5 points and two rebounds on 39.2 percent shooting (34.2 percent from three) in just more than 18 minutes per game.
