Why is UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen trolling Jim Mora Jr.?

There are a few things that could be going on with former UCLA head coach Jim Mora Jr. and his odd analysis of former Bruins quarterback Josh Rosen.

Maybe he’s taken a unique path to helping Rosen, one of the top three quarterback prospects in the 2018 NFL Draft, dictate which team selects the signal-caller (i.e., not the Cleveland Browns). Otherwise, he’s either unknowingly tanking Rosen’s stock or doing it with spite.

Why?

We don’t know. But we want to.

In an interview with MMQB’s Peter King, Mora gave an odd take by suggesting his former pupil shouldn’t be selected first overall by the Cleveland Browns (Mora said USC quarterback Sam Darnold is a better fit).

Mora said Rosen’s being a millenial had something to do with … something.

“He needs to be challenged intellectually so he doesn’t get bored. He’s a millennial. He wants to know why. Millennials, once they know why, they’re good. Josh has a lot of interests in life. If you can hold his concentration level and focus only on football for a few years, he will set the world on fire. He has so much ability, and he’s a really good kid,” Mora told King.

Why Darnold, also a millenial, does not ask “Why?” makes us wonder why Mora thinks this way.

But this story gets better, because either Rosen is playing along with Mora or he’s trolling his former head coach.

Just look at what he wrote on Twitter:

It’s even more odd that Mora told King that zero NFL teams have called him to hear his opinion on Rosen.

That is either a lie, or Mora’s opinion is valued so little that no NFL team wanted to hear his thoughts on Rosen — and that’s before his odd comments to King.

There are a lot of questions in this whole thing.

We just want to know why Rosen and Mora are doing what they are doing.
