Does Robin Lopez lack passion and desire?

PHOENIX – Since being drafted by the Phoenix Suns, center Robin Lopez has tantalized and disappointed the organization with his play on the court.

Some are beginning to suggest his make-up is the reason for his inconsistencies.

“I don’t think there’s a burning passion and desire to be a great player,” said John Gambadoro on the Sports 620 KTAR’s Gambo and Ash show on Tuesday.

The talk show host believes Lopez only got into basketball due to his height and doesn’t see him turning into a player the organization can count on.

“I don’t think he loves the game the way you need to love the game in order to become a good player,” said Gambadoro.

If Gambadoro is correct, maybe the Suns should look long and hard on finding a different center to pair with the emerging Marcin Gortat.
