Jimmer Fredette may be the most talked about player in this year’s NBA Draft and it looks like the Phoenix Suns are joining the conversation.
While the Suns have not revealed exactly what their draft plans are, it is becoming apparent that Fredette may be a part of them.
“They’re looking for either a point guard or a forward and that’s what they said,” Fredette told his agent. “I’m definitely high on their list and they said they like Tristan Thompson a lot. It just depends on the draft and who people pick before it gets to them.”
Fredette worked out with the Suns recently and was told that there was a good possibility he would be playing in Phoenix last year.
The former BYU star averaged 29 points and four assists per game last season. If he should join the Suns he may have to transform his game a little bit in an attempt to be more of a point guard rather than the shooting guard he was in college.
While Phoenix is definitely a possible landing spot for the Jimmer, there are plenty of teams interested and Fredette will be happy to join any of them.
“I can’t believe how close it is to me actually going to be in the NBA,” Fredette said. “You wait for it your whole life and all of a sudden it’s here.”
