Marcus Morris is the more commonly known Morris twin due to his scoring prowess. While he stands 6-9, 230 lbs. the dynamic scoring big man insists he is able to play the small forward in the NBA. His handle and shooting insist he can play on the perimeter, scoring is not where Marcus is questioned. In college Marcus was a consistent threat from the college three, which in the NBA translates to a great mid-range shooting.
Can his range extend to the NBA three is the question? Or can he guard the elite athletes that reside on every NBA team on the wing?
The negatives are vastly outweighed by the positives with Marcus though, he is a great basketball player. Two elements of his game that will stand out the most (outside of the shooting) are his intelligence and ability to step in from day one as a contributor. The energy, effort and size he plays with will allow him to find a role on any team as a rookie. His game is similar to that of current NBA star and former All-Star David West (New Orleans), he is an assassin from the perimeter and can rebound at a high level. He is not the athlete or defender that West has shown to be though.
On the Suns Marcus may be the solution to Robin Lopez’s funk, after all, the last time we saw Lopez play well was next to an elite scoring forward in Amare Stoudemire.
