PHOENIX SUNS

Lots of talent was available at what could have been the Suns’ No. 23 pick

The 23rd pick in the NBA Draft came and went with a
lot of intrigue.

Why would there be intrigue in Phoenix you ask? They owned
this pick before the Goran Dragic trade (for Aaron Brooks)
sent it to the Houston Rockets.

If the Suns were on the clock what pool of players could
they have chosen from? Well, quite a bit of talent
actually.

The best player on the board was Jordan Hamilton, he is a
versatile scorer who can do a bit of anything. Hamilton on
the wing with either Jared Dudley or Grant Hill would be a
dynamic duo. The Suns did workout Hamilton and liked his
game. His scoring will be missed.

Marshon Brooks was also available as a wing scorer. Brooks
can knock down threes all day and get his own points
anytime. Having a scorer of that caliber would have added
minutes to Steve Nash’s legs going forward.

Talented point guards were also on the board, both Reggie
Jackson and Darius Morris could have been the heir
apparent to Steve Nash. Instead, they fell too in love
with Iman Shumpert and were not aggressive enough to get
another pick later to add a point guard.

The “What If’s” and “Could Have Been’s” will now be
discussed all season and beyond. If any of those players
become a future All-Star the Suns will really kick
themselves.
