Marcin Gortat considering playing in Russia during NBA lockout

Add Phoenix Sun center Marcin Gortat to the list of players considering a move overseas if the NBA lockout continues.

According to Polish media reports, Gortat said he is likely to play in Russia.

Outdated is my opportunity to play in the Polish league, which is constantly evolving, but in terms of Russia’s far inferior league. I do not want to reveal the details, I can only say that I played in a very nice city. July 22 is coming to Warsaw, my manager, and then probably give more information – Gortat said.

While not a superstar, Gortat figures to have a big role with the Sun next season. He averaged 10 points and eight rebounds in 25 minutes per game last season

The 6-foot-11, 240 pound center is currently under contract with the Suns but playing overseas, likely with fellow NBA players, would allow him to develop his game and stay in shape while the NBA is locked out.
